​A Christmas Poem

Let us celebrate in Spirit
this wonderful gift from above
the gift that keeps on giving
born out of a Father’s love
 
This gift now stirs within us
for each and everyone
knowing within their own heart,
that this gift is God’s own Son
 
This gift includes a promise from God
of our eternal life to come
But also, that with every trial
our victory has surely been won
 
He tells us not to fear the world
which He has now overcome
Instead go forth in peace and love
for then, God’s will be done
 
His word declares that we are now
beloved children and not slaves
Equipped with His own abilities
to love and give life as He gave
 
So, while giving others pleasant gifts
can surely be lots of fun
let’s not forget to celebrate
Christ Jesus, God’s own Son!
